President Obama laid a wreath at the Hiroshima memorial peace park this week in memory of the U.S. dropping of an atomic bomb on that city nearly 71 years ago, an event that ended the second world war and launched the nuclear age. The quest for nuclear nonproliferation has been a hallmark of Mr. Obama’s term as President. “We have known the agony of war,” Obama wrote in the guest book at the memorial site. “Let us now find the courage, together, to spread peace and pursue a world without nuclear weapons.” Scroll down to “Leave a Reply” to add your comment.
